Asthma Relief | Boise Eagle Chiropractor
Asthma can be a debilitating disease, whether you’re living in Eagle and Boise, Idaho, or any other place around the country. It can be managed, but that typically requires medication, carrying a rescue inhaler so you are prepared for emergencies at all times, and even refraining from activities you enjoy.
What if there were an alternative? One that could reduce the amount of medication you require? Studies indicate that chiropractic care can provide some relief for asthma sufferers.
Take, for example, a trial involving 420 patients with an average age of 46 at 16 treatment centers in Australia in 2002. Headed by Ray Hayek, Ph.D., the research team was studying the effects of spinal manipulation on asthma symptoms, depression and anxiety, general health status, as well as levels of immunity, as reflected in the concentrations of both an immunoglobulin (IgA) and an immunosuppressant (cortisol).
The patient group that underwent spinal manipulation displayed significant improvement in asthma symptoms, as well and depression and anxiety. In addition, dramatic increases in IgA and a decrease in cortisol through the post-treatment period suggest a change in immunological abilities that could help ward off subsequent asthmatic attacks.
Another study reported in the Medical Journal of Australia reported that chiropractic received the highest satisfaction rate (86.5 percent) when compared with other means of alternative care. Similarly, the European Chiropractic Union reported that 76.5 percent of patients with bronchial asthma said they benefited from chiropractic treatment.
Why is chiropractic care helpful – especially corrective chiropractic care? Because spinal misalignments brought on by poor postural habits, auto accidents, sports injuries, or workplace accidents exert pressure on the delicate nerves in the neck and back – the same nerves that carry vital nerve energy from the brain into our limbs and organs. Just like a kink in a garden hose, nerve interference cuts down nerve energy from reaching their intended destination – in this case the lungs – leading to asthma and shortness of breath.
That’s where Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP) comes in. Chiropractors practicing Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP) aim to realign the spine back to health, eliminate nerve interference, and restore nerve energy back to the limbs and organs.
CBP is the most scientific, researched and results-oriented corrective chiropractic technique in the world. Only a small percentage of dedicated and highly trained chiropractors are certified to practice this technique. At Ideal Spine Health Center in Eagle, Boise and Meridian, Idaho, we are the largest corrective care facility in the United States. As a matter of fact, our clinical director Dr. Deed Harrison is not only the president of Chiropractic BioPhysics Technique and Seminars, but he holds regular seminars at his facility to teach other chiropractors how to utilize CBP on their patients.
